Day 1: Addis Ababa to Wolayta Sodo - Pottery Traditions

Drive south from Addis Ababa to Wolayta Sodo, home to the Wolayta people known for their distinctive black clay pottery. Visit local pottery workshops where artisans create functional and ceremonial pottery using traditional coil techniques without wheels. Learn about the spiritual significance of pottery in Wolayta culture and see the firing process. Visit a local market showcasing Wolayta crafts and agricultural products. Continue to Arba Minch for overnight, situated between Lakes Chamo and Abaya with beautiful views of the Rift Valley.
